Getting Settled

So we are finially starting to get settled.  We are getting the last boxes unpacked; We are arranging our garage slowly but surely; and we are getting around to putting up our curtains and wall art.  Ryan is very busy working on the "Vine House" property renovation.  He is currently putting up the new sheet rock and about ready to mud and tape.  We are looking at painting as soon as next week and then it is on to laying the carpets and flooring and getting the finishing done.  We have leased out two rooms, and have interest in the other ones.  So all in all, the business side of life is marching along.

Here is a picture of the Vine House, a 1904 Victorian 9 bedroom and 3.5 bathroom home that we helped my parents find and purchase.  We are renovating it to rent out to local College students for the school term by the room.  It is SO beautiful... and after Ryan gets done with it, it will be gorgeous!

Closer to home, Colleen is getting ready for her first year in school.  We have been getting her outfitted in her school "dress code" school clothes, and she is telling everyone that we have to listen to her now because she is a grown up school girl! lol.  Alec is walking now, and Marcus gets VERY adamant about visiting the farm and all the animals there.  Ryan and I talked in Church yesterday about "How the teachings of Christ and His Gospel bring families and spouses closer together".  I was also called as a Primary Teacher.  Since we arrived here, the Primary has had two big activities.  A Pioneer Day Parade and Dinner, and last Saturday was and Olympic / water activity that lasted two hours and was very well organized... I am impressed with the leadership in this Primary as well as the other children in this ward!!!  Colleen and I will be attending a Relief Society Enrichment activity tomorrow night a Mothers and Daughters Craft Night.  She is so excited and has been counting down the days.

We celebrated Colleen's 5th birthday and Alec's 1st on the 26th of July.  Colleen picked a Pirate theme party and it turned out great.  Annaliese helped a great deal and totally classed up the treasure hunt by writing pirate like clues and antiquing the strips of paper.  I will get some picture up soon!  Thank you Grandpa for the card and thanks to the rest of the family that made their special day even more special!

We love and miss visiting with you all, but maybe now that we are closer by again, we will see you more often! We would love to have any of you come up for a visit and to check out the ol' Peterson Farm and environs lol and to take a peek at this house Ryan is working on.  I will try to get some pictures up of the before and after shots soon.  Hope to talk to you all soon.

Love and Hugs
-Laura and the rest of the bunch!
